Santorum Vs Separation Of Church And State, JFK Speech

Posted By on August 31, 2019

sent or has been talking about religion
quite a bit on the campaign trail and uh… recently he decided to talk
about the speech that j_f_k_ gave on the separation of church and state wet swatches sent to ever have to say
about that speech during the campaign you talked about john f_ kennedy’s
famous speech to the baptist ministers in houston back
in nineteen sixty-two suggests a graded by political career had the
opportunity to reduce the chance for usually the speech that speeches and read as you know by
millions of americans sits teams were echoed in
part by mit romney in the last campaign what do you make you throw up because the first line of first uh…
substantive line in the speech says i believe in america where the trip and
the separation of church and state is absolute i don’t believe in an americorps the
separation of church and state is absolute the idea that uh… that this
the church can have no influence in the law involved that in the operation of
the state with is absolutely in a federal to the to the objectives and and and
vision of our country so i think this is why i a m discussed it the republicans conservatives who wrap themselves in our
flag and purport to be teachers they’re not pictures they are
the worst kind of traders is absolutely no idea of what this country is founded
on the separation of church and state is
the most fundamental thing that this was done on rang nothing more that was the number one thing and he is claiming that that makes someone a pond he’s saying that what this country
stands on what what you’re missing bonded these people who pretend that there is
so loyal to our constitution and and suspicious of the biggest absolute full
of it you know what’s amazing is at the lake
if i were a democrat running against right i don’t know pulled on whatever he does
he probably wouldn’t but i would claim that the rick santorum is unpatriotic
you don’t love america because you don’t love when america was founded upon unfortunately are as you saw from the
scent or crowds are people go rehearsed how america is taking america is california and texas in alabama dipping
his actual place but it’s not uh… passages before injectors that too america is an idea this idea that it’s
uh… summation of law not a nation of men dot as the nation where people at the
park to really and at the church does not control of
the abuse that is what i meet registered us that’s the way it
was in the church is controlled all the government’s and america was
founded on the principle that that would no longer happened that that that
there’s religious freedom and rick santorum’s vision of america is
also so stupidly shortsighted because european if he had his way and church
could take over the government duties one that i guess that system fine for
now because if he’s a christian and they’re
more christians today but fast forward a hundred years max orders from them maybe
is all muslims at that point and then it’ll be islamic law uh… controlling the car arond our constitution majors making
sense and so shortsighted is awful wrongheaded it’s long for off hundreds of reasons and you know it goes to the idea of
projection that jr’s mission anytime right desires so too terrified of sharia law which was figuring out the status of the for
because if they headed their way day would impose all other religious
beliefs under government right doubles the straw
man that i was missing right after he was uh… he’s finished spa stupid comments the thing is you have to say okay so
look at the separation of church and state that means that there’s this on religious people depend on him not to
say anything public square so if if it was allowed to have their own
beliefs that means that if you’re not allowed to
post your own to anyone else did you just be a house to get used to being
something you being put down persecuted they kept waiting for cities that have a
reason to say checking the the dvd’s so with this is a separate sisters of st for the kids do whatever community this that that’s not too late
to the local purpose for the separation of church and
state is that the government one dictate what type of
religion you practice in this country right and you’re free practice
christianity or freedom practice mormon is in your freedom b and muslim jewish
twelve miles of the look questionable here in the united states are especially
create your new york city abut like to see fails to even understand that that you
live in a country where you are free to practice whatever religion you watch if
you own a church k_k_k_ or if you’re an insurance your exam from certain taxes
like there’s so many great things about this country they’re completely
overlapping it’s because you want to like create this conspiracy theory about how
that the democrats are trying to when religion and how they’re trying to
basically it you know well i think churches should be passed
unit so i think that really pisses me off churches max what charges on the fire department
cartman’s and and and police were still need to
rely in any and power lines italy’s arose to get to and from the
church while market tax basically taxes but as
a whole different are good but anyway the central is understand the separation
of church and state you’ve just does not because of the uh… as you mentioned
that there’s two provisions of the first
amendment on religion one of the establishment clause says it that the state cannot establish any
religion as a state religion and the free
exercise clause which says that you know that as individuals were freed exercise
whatever religion everyone exercise and that is a very easy some are way up uh… instituting this separation
commitment in church and state and they wanted breakdown that bear and have this doctor evidence that was because and the free exercise cause destroyed
because if he destroyed one the other falls to
because if you’re lucky establish a religion then spark for our people to exercise
freely the religion of their choice right exactly now we have let me upset
i’m talking about religion uh… and let’s watch that will get well absolutely say that people
of faith have no role in the public square you that that makes you throw up what kind of country we live in that
says only people of non faith can come in the public square and make their case
that makes me throw up and should make every american who were seen from the
president someone who who who is now trying to tell people a bit faith that
you will do what the government says ok missile ok if you can’t really making
that up in in this country uh… christians have
more influence than any other religion if you are presidential candidate and
you are not christian what’s the first thing that happens unit criticized for
it mit romney i mean i despise the guy but he has criticized for being a mormon
rifle by not to be immediately cast them off as a muslim because they want and
even i said i’d say look he’s not like that is not like us christians don’t have a say in the
public squares so many completely made up his comment that by having a separation complete
separation of church and state necessarily means that religious people can not saying anything
in the public square it’s either complete lie that he knows is a lie he’s a complete in autre immediately is
what are the other knows that i think you know there’s a lot right through the
second just because they’re the separatist
urges that does not mean that irreligious persecuted stand in a place
where at and say what he or she wants to say because you don’t you know that
bridgewater ronan everywhere these days it’s a statistic is reykjavik this is the prosecution’s did you come
on st dot over countries but that’s the whole
point of having a public square that you have a free exchange of ideas are marketplace of
ideas and nowhere doesn’t imply in and you way possible release people can say anything

  1. You are right, this is not your logic, nothing about this is logical, it is plain stupidity. You cannot compare the exploitation of children to the mutual and consensual love of fully grown adults. There is something wrong with you.

What has been the effect of coercion? To make one half the world fools, and the other half hypocrites. To support roguery and error all over the earth.- Thomas Jefferson

  4. 2:40 It would be nice if you all knew what the constitution said. The separation of church and state means that the government cannot tell people how to worship. It was a founding law that protected people to worship God without fear that the government would get involved. It did not say that religion should stay out of government or that it should involve itself…politicians seem to make it a lot more complicated than it is.

just look at Salem for example
Reigious freedom limited to just Christianity

I am a Christian but I FULLY SUPPORT SEPARATION of CHURCH & STATE. those christians who think that church & state should NOT be separate have FORGOTTEN the BLOODY PERSECUTIONS of innocent people by the UN-holy roman catholic church & others as well. christians who do not support separation will also have a problem with Jesus because He IS a SEPARATIONIST Mark 12:17

  11. The constitution say nothing of Separation of Church and State. It says, "Separation of Church from State." You don't violate the constitution by having the Church trying to 'influence' the State. Read the Constitution. There is no expression, "separation of Church and state." It's about protecting Religion, not Protecting Big Brother. Government has used this to "enslave people" into secularism.Big government is just another cult for weak minded individuals.

  13. Why wasn't "separation of church and state" written into our constitution? The commentators cut off Santorum and lie! Humanism is a religion and is shoved down the throats of our children every day.

There s no doubt that many humanists consider their ideology a religion. Charles Francis Potter, signer of the Humanist Manifesto and author of Humanism: A New Religion, wrote, "So Humanism is not simply another denomination …it is not a creed; nor is it a cult. It is a new type of religion" .

It's ironic that these "Christians" despise LDS(Mormons) chichi members because if they actually knew anything they would see the the full correct name of the church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Although I do agree Mitt Roomney is a jerk. He can't be Christian. He tried to kill a dog and he shaved a guy's head! He can't be a Christian.

'my point..the phrase "separation of church and state' is not in the constitution..if you knew our history, you know that it's about protecting the people/ religion from govt. freedom from religion has no bearing on religious groups trying to influence govt.

  18. if you read the words you right, It's all about protecting folks rights/liberty to religion. it's completely made up that you can twist the words into implying folks have the right not written into the constitution..furthermore, the government has "zero" right..the constituion was not about 'protecting itself from religion.' no one would ever have imagined that the founding father's intended that. secular mumbo jumbo…not advocating doesn't mean the govt has some made up protection/ rights?

  20. Separation of church and state comes from a letter by Thomas Jefferson, and you can't add a letter as some sort of new de facto amendment without a constitutional amendment process. People who argue against the "separation" doctrine aren't advocated for a theology, but are advocating against the forced secularization of their society. Tearing down manger scenes, tearing crosses down from military churches, and so on.

  21. There is also no phrase "separation of powers" or "freedom of religion" in the text of the constitution either. Those are principles established within the constitution, despite those phrases themselves not appearing verbatim in the constitution. Similarly, the principle of the separation of church and state comes from the establishment clause.

You would automatically be a troll. Liberals are this way. They are evil.

And you people have done all of that for thousands of years. So sorry to drop the news on you but everything immoral has happened in the church ESPECIALLY when in power of a country. So now tell me, where in human history has atheism in government killed, raped and tortured billions of people? Even the bible has mass genocide.

The democratic parties best hope is that enough Todd Akin like insanity makes it onto the airwaves for the public to get the "these guys really believe that stuff" impression of the party. If that happens, it will likely be a major shift to the democratic party which will move to the right due to the new more conservative membership. The republican party will be replaced.

  52. There is no ABSOLUTE separation of Church (Religion) and state, because state laws are subject to moral laws, meaning and purpose which are matters which cannot be proven by science. And religions are subject to civil laws. Separation of Church and state only makes sense if you understand it to mean, the state's authority is limited to temporal affairs and the Church's authority is limited to moral affairs, meaning and purpose, and each must recognize the others authority in their sphere and not try to usurp it.
