Refugees Find Freedom, Welcome at Boise Church

Posted By on January 4, 2020

(boy) I’m gonna
ride the scooter! (narrator) The Al Aboud children
are able to enjoy the cul-de-sac in front of their new
home in Boise, Idaho – freedom inconceivable in
their homeland of Syria. (man) You want
to ride, Osama? (narrator) Since the family
of seven arrived here in August 2016, four
young couples from the Cathedral of the Rockies First
United Methodist Church have been helping in
practical and fun ways, taking them to area parks,
attractions and restaurants. (Zach Stuckey) We’ve learned so
much about what’s happening in the Middle East, from
a different perspective from broadcast news
in the United States, from actual people
that grew up there. And what we’ve found is
that they’re just like us. They’re just exactly the
same people as we are. They just happen to live in a
place where people are bombing each other right now. (Annie Stuckey) We’re very
protective, all of a sudden, of these people that three, four
weeks ago were strangers. And now, they’re our friends. And we have been working
together and getting to know these other couples from our
church that we didn’t even know very well. (narrator) Zach Stuckey and
his wife Annie welcomed the Al Abouds into their home for
ten days to give them a break from two months
in a local hotel. (Najwa Ibrahim Ajaj) We say to
Zach and Annie so much thank you for him and we ask Allah – God
– to give him every day hope. (woman) How are you? (narrator) Cindy Todeschi
created the church’s refugee assistance
program in 2016. More than 100 volunteers
help with move-ins, English tutoring and mentoring. Boise has been a resettlement
community since the 1970s. About 1100 refugees
arrive each year, only 10 percent from Syria. (Cindy Todeschi) It’s
biblical that we welcome the stranger and that we receive
people into our communities that are seeking refuge
from war and persecution. In fact, Jesus and his
family were refugees. And so, when we put ourselves in
their position, I think it isn’t a political issue, it’s
a discipleship issue. (narrator) The civil war in
Syria began in the Al Aboud’s hometown of Daraa in 2011. After surviving a year,
they evacuated to Jordan. They passed more than three
years of extensive security screening before being allowed
to seek refuge in the U.S. (Najwa) If the people in America
has bad thoughts of Muslims, we want to change this
to give him the right, beautiful ideas about Muslims. (Cindy) As a society, we have so
much to offer, so much to share, I don’t think we can
keep it to ourselves. Seeing these brave people from
all walks of life and all places on the globe come here and
just want to be a part of our community, I mean, they bring
so many gifts and talents. It’s just going to enrich
our society completely. ♪ (music) ♪

  1. Democrats trying to make Idaho a Blue state. The FBI / CIA have stated that these people can NOT be properly vetted, yet under the Obama administration they were given "green cards" anyways. ISIS has declared war on the USA and have already stated they would come to the USA through the refugee program. People in Boise better wake up, read the Quran, ISLAM is NOT a religion of peace. They will never accept the US Constitution. They in time, they will demand Sharia Law be the law of the land. Don't think it will happen, no one thought same sex marriage would ever happen and look what the LGBTP community has done. When people start dying in Boise due to terrorist attacks, come back and tell us how wonderful these people are!

  2. If they are followers of Muhammad, they are your enemies.
They have ruined every city they have entered.
When they become the majority, they will ask for sharia, just like Muhammad has taught them.

  3. They're just using your church. They would rather see you decapitated because you're not a muslim. If the situation was flipped, they would not be so welcoming to you as Christians.

  4. #1 We aren’t even taking care of our own American citizens and Veterans.
#2 The Lady in the video states these Refugees bring skills and help contribute? Really?? Refugees from third world countries don’t bring skills, they do bring disease, cultural issues like not assimilating into OUR culture!
#3. Refugees “especially the men” bring violence to our communities especially towards women! Don’t believe me, look up our ADA County Arrest log on line
#4. Refugees are a massive strain to our local economy, school systems and even more importantly our medical services that are already spread too thin!
#5. Refugees in Boise have FREE HOUSING, MEDICAL, EDUCATION, FOOD & Transportation too! Your hard earned money going to help Refugees live for FREE and drain our cities and citizens resources DRY!

Those are the facts folks. I am sure you have some great people among your church. Sadly that goes to the wayside when you make choices like this. Just like the young teen Girl in Kuna Idaho. She was viciously Gang Raped by (4) men. You guessed it….. All (4) are Refugees awaiting trial. Her life’s ruined and our tax dollars are being used to incarcerate and process these MONSTERS that shouldn’t be here in the first place! Others have already proven that this social experiment DOES NOT WORK or end well. Just ask the Europeans
