Palestinians: Should Palestine be Arab and Islamic or secular?

Should the Palestinian state
be Arab and Muslim or secular? Double click to edit Palestine is part of the Islamic trust lands It is for all Muslims and not only the Palestinian Muslims What about non-Muslims?
Do they have to pay Jizya (tax on non-Muslims) Not now In the past, non-Muslims who
are monotheistic have live under the Islamic state in peace The Jizya system takes a simple amount (of money) instead of preserving the security So my question again Will non-Muslims need to pay Jizya in his state? Yes They are paying for protection They will have what the Muslims have
and they will have to do what the Muslims do which means that they (non-Muslims) have their rights and it’s not to sum up, it is not discriminating in a way He said (in a way) which means, if you are Muslim taxing a non-Muslilm,
you will be punished for that according to the Islamic rules In the Palestinian state Hele
Abu Dis will the state be Arab and Muslim or secular? An Arabic Islamic state We are Muslim and it’s a Muslim country and if we will be secular if it will be a truly secular state this means we will seperate between our religion and our government and this doesn’t work What about Christians and Jews who live here? Our religion is a tolerant religion and is respectful to other religions and if this will be an Islamic state this means they will have their (rights)
It will not be unfair for them (non-Muslims) Will they have to pay Jizya? if they are not Muslims, I asked her In Islam there are no taxes no extra taxes for non-Muslims This is what they say So they would be completely equal The state will be under our leadership which means it will be under our own law which is the Islamic law But this means that it will
not be unfair for them too It will be under our rule
but they will be treate equally Once Palestine is a state Jihad
Jerusalem should it be Arab and Muslim
or secular? Secular I am a Muslim but if it will be Muslim
there will be lots of racism It should not be very extremist because then they will think
we are the same as ISIS and we should be more…
find the common ground and not be extreme In your view, should Palestine
be a Muslim Arab state or a secular state for all? Maryum
Nablus It should be an Arab Islamic state Because this is how we have been living these are our traditions and customs because this is how we were raised
this is how we are living we are not very “go here and go there” “and do what you want” and we have
– certain customs If it were secular, we would
have much more problems because our society isn’t that way I don’t really think it could be secular because there would be too much openness
(the Arabic part got cut off) and too much liberalism Too much liberalism isn’t good because there
wouldn’t be any religion and there wouldn’t be much attention towards relief (helping others) Should the Palestinian state
be Arab and Muslim or a secular state? Hussain
Bethlehem I prefer it will be a secular state If it will be an Islamic state it is kind of saying it will be a little bit extreme If it will be a secular state it means
it will open for everybody not only for the people here it is for the whole world Should Palestine be an
Arab Islamic or secular state? It should be secular Secular state for all For everyone Ahmad
Nablus By all, I mean the Palestinians the Christians and the Muslims What about Jews? Palestinian Jews? Yes, of course He means Samaritans
(referred to as Palestinian Jews) ok, he means Samaritans Right?
Yes If I were to ask you the same
question, you wouldn’t like it What do you mean? Why? The Jewish state would’t allow non-Jews to…
Yes they do But they (Israel) sets a different set of laws for them You see the laws and rules that they set that are different for the Arab Israelis They are the same rules and laws So just by one visit to Israel
when you go to Israel you will see that there is a huge difference between the
way the Arabs live and the way the Jews live No Ok, let’s go on… I am not accusing you I am not accusing you
but just go to Hadassah hospital I have been there Go to Hadassah hospital (Jerusalem)
and see how they differentiate Look, of course, they are going to be nice to you because you look like a foreigner and
you don’t look like an Arab or Palestinian they are going to be nice to you ok, let’s get a different perspective
because you are not going to … But tell him, he wants the Jewish people
to cease existing to create a Palestinian state that is secular but he says the reason he is
not granting it to Jews is that they are not treating
the people nicely, equally but this (Palestinian) state
wants to be better than the Jewish state so from the perspective of being better and being more modern being better for the people Isn’t it also good to integrate
every religion? even the Jews We have no problem dealing with the Jews neighbouring them But as our President Abu Mazen is saying we want a state on the 1967 borders Well, in the end in the end, us and them can live in peace but we want out state which is on the 1967 borders So we have no problem but they don’t want (peace) but they don’t want to live… But it’s about the Palestinian state
being better than the Jewish state We want it to be the best country in the world
Of course Should the Palestinian state be
Arab and Islamic or secular? Omar
Jerusalem He prefers we not be Islamic because there are also Christian Palestinians Let the president be a Muslim but maybe the prime minister
would be a Christian He is Muslim? He is Muslim We are not better than
Omar Ben Khattab who dealt with the Christians in a fair way Who ever says something else this is very rejected by us Justice Rights The Christians have been here
since the times of Jesus May peace be upon Him What about the Jews? Are they part of it too? The people have been there before- the Jews but let them live also here But the Jews who came here
to kill the Muslims and the Christians this is very rejected If Buddhists came here I would
accept them to live with us Referring to me he said You didn’t create human beings
God is the one who created them and if he did some revenge to anyone who did something bad whether Buddhist, Muslim, Christian this is worse It is the relationship between God and man Would you prefer Palestine be
an Arab Muslim state or a secular state? Nadim
Bethlehem Secular Why? If it will be secular, it will respect all religions but if it will be Muslim
it will put some rules which create some restrictions In your view should Palestine
be Arab and Islamic state or a secular state? Moamen
Nablus For sure it has to be an Arab Islamic state What happens to Christians who live here?
Do they have to pay Jizya No Not at all and I don’t think
that is a condition I don’t think I don’t think if it turns into an Islamic state that the Christians should pay Jizya, no They are our brothers
they should live just like us So how is it Islamic then? If they don’t pay Jizya
or how will it be in general? In general So first of all the majority are Muslims here in Palestine and Palestine is known as a Muslim Arab country and if any other religion or sect
is not against me as a Muslim why would I make them pay Jizya? So us and the Christians
and the other sects and religions we are all brothers and of course if differs from the relationship between
the Palestinians and the enemies who are the Israeli Jews

Also is Israel a secular country ? ofcourse not. Israel was established by Zionist a d Zionism is the foundation of Israel

  4. A secular Arabic state has proven failure as all our Arabic states are now secular and which results we have but more killing and dictatorship? Why do you need to make things into such a binary way of seeing things (either secular or religious?). I would rather have our own system that is adopted from our own identity not borrowed from anywhere! Let us say, Muslims need a readaptation to Islam as a part of their civilisation and identity. Islam is not the Islam of Modern countries that is foreign from Islam. As Muslims, need first to restudy the text, reread it through the linguistics evolution and away from the fabricated Islamic history that is imposed on Muslims!

  5. This is a very interesting video. Arab Muslims in Palestine are arguing for a secular Muslim state. They seem to be way more advanced than alot of Muslims in UK (and also anti-Muslim haters) who think that aspiring to an Islamic State under Sharia Law is the only interpretation of Islam.

  6. Ex christian here. Any Muslim who wants secularism over Sharia has committed the 4th and 5th nullifiers of faith and has become a kafir and this is FOUNDATIONAL to the faith. This is the moderate view, you people totally misuse and abuse the word "moderate" to mean some liberal, secular, extremist who basically isn't a Muslim at all. No, our prophet pbuh taught us what moderate means, he said Muslims follow the moderate path the straight path meaning follow all aspects of your faith EQUALLY do not stop wearing hijab, do not start eating pork, do not blow yourself up and kill innocent people these are two sides of the same coin of extremism. Sharia Law is a moderate straight path Muslim. See, you christians somehow think being moderate means not practicing your faith at all and not being ashamed to commit the filth you commit you're totally against God and you are EXTREME! Extreme secularists on one side trying to attack Sharia Law which a Muslim cannot be Muslim without and extreme american supported Isis on the other side both tugging at Islam! Anyone who doesn't follow their faith isn't Muslim duherr!!! And that is exactly what you pigs want as The Holy Qur'an has warned they will never accept you until you follow their religion(democracy) and leave your faith and become like them, how true are the words of Allah? So true. Attacking Sharia is the wrong thing to do, that is ultimately trying to get one to leave their faith and a good reason to intensify some good ole fashioned jihad against you. We believe in the book of Allah, ALL of it. Unlike the disbelieving christians do. Filthy disbelieving pigs.

  8. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) emphasized the duties of Muslims toward dhimmis (non Muslims), threatening anyone who violates them with the wrath and punishment of Allah. The Prophet is reported to have said, "He who hurts a dhimmi(nonmuslim) hurts me, and he who hurts me annoys Allah" (At-Tabarani).

He also says, "Whoever hurts a dhimmi(nonmuslim), I am his adversary, and I shall be an adversary to him on the Day of Resurrection" (Al-Khatib).

"On the Day of Judgment, I will dispute with anyone who oppresses a person from among the People of the Covenant, or infringes upon his right, or puts a responsibility on him which is beyond his strength, or takes something from him against his will" (Abu Dawud).

The successors of the Prophet safeguarded these rights and sanctities of non-Muslim citizens, and the jurists of Islam, in spite of the variation of their opinions regarding many other matters, are unanimous in emphasizing these rights and sanctities.

Shahab Ad-Deen Al-Qarafi, the Maliki jurist, states the following:

The covenant of protection imposes upon us certain obligations toward ahl adh-dhimmah (non Muslims). They are our neighbors, under our shelter and protection upon the guarantee of Allah, His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) and the religion of Islam. Whoever violates these obligations against anyone of them, by damaging his reputation, or by doing him some injury, has breached the Covenant of Allah, His Messenger, and his conduct run counters to the teachings of Islam. (Al-Furuq)

  9. The jizya tax is only imposed on men who work and do not serve in military campaigns/city defense. Women, children, elderly, sick ,disabled receive money from the state and do not have to pay jizya. Also, the muslims pay a higher amount in zakaa. Muslim taxation is higher than the jizya. Not sure why they play stupid and ignore the actual laws of jizya. They would rather pay 30 plus percent taxes to fanatic godless governments. If you read and studied how jizya actually works, you would beg for it.

  10. 'they will be equal under islamic law'
and when has this been the case? even in the sharia-law based malaysia (which is a very different exception than the rest of sharia-based islamic nation, thanks to 30% of its population being nonmuslims), there will be religious discrimination (eg: you can and privileged to preach islam to others and convert to it, but thats impossible to convert out of islam and hard to preach nonmuslim religion as muslims do), other islamic state with sharias? way worse discriminations

thats the reality, thus this shows how different they interpret words like 'equal treatment' 'justice' etc compared to nonmuslim ones

  15. Some are quick to answer that they want an Islamic Palestine, considering that the majority is Palestinian and not thinking about applying Sharia when they want a more specific question. You should ask them whether you want to apply Islamic law or not. Many of them will respond to a secular state.

  16. for the people here who keep mumbling about jizya :
jizya is a tax on non – muslims
zakat is a tax on muslims
meaning = we both pay taxes , they ust have different names because we have different religions !
if jizya is not paid then what will the non – muslims pay ?!! nothing ?!!! in other countries it's called tax , in Islam it has other names

  21. Rather Sunil or shiit Palestinian the fact is they will not stop the civil war that's waged over some stupid shit. Which of the brothers families should have ruled the sheep of Islam after Muhammads death. The honest answer is Islam should have never been invented. It was Muhammad's way of enslaving thru false religious ideology. So who's family should have prevailed? Saddams' ? Truth, again Islamic ideology is to spread and infest all lands with the cultists views. Islam has lived passed it's expiration date, hence the spoiled rotting stench must be washed away and let the festered infection it was heal over till forgotten

  23. An Ex-Muslim Palestinian here… before you judge those people you have to understand that most people here DON'T UNDERSTAND what Sharia-law means or what Jizya means. most people think the Jizya is a tax that is equal to the tax that Muslims pay(Zakat) and that it's paid in exchange for protection(meaning the none-Muslims don't have to serve in the army even if there was a war) and that Sharia-law is the fairest law possible and it's all about love and peace and being nice to poor people. WHICH IS NOT TRUE, but my point is; they're not bad people(except for Hamas, they know what it means and they want it), they're just uneducated on religion. and the translator is really bad btw.

for example, as muslim we should choose muslim leader. But if our country is secular, many people with influence muslim to not believe their religion. Just choose non muslim people if you will. It means its hard for muslim to keep in Islam. Many people will limit them.
