what's up welcome back guys Samer Brax here and in this video i'm going to show you a cool way they get the best keywords to rank for your product and make it on page one and sell more than your competition on Amazon it's a very data-driven and numbers based method and it's gonna look something like this which is gonna help you big-time and removing the guessing game of choosing the keywords most of the time you're trying to figure out what keywords to rank for you either choose based on your intuition or you do something more like this where it's based on numbers and data this also could be a way to validate your product ideas so if you're looking for a product to sell I'll show you how this could be one way to see if it's too competitive or not by the way I'm back in Montreal as you can see back home I was in Los Angeles for the past two months if you've been watching my videos you know and a couple weeks ago over there in LA I went to a meet-up where Brandon young was speaking he's a multi-million dollar seller who's done I think something between three and six million dollars in sales per year on Amazon and he shared his tactics on how to validate product ideas and how to get the best keywords for your listing to target and this is what he shared so this whole excel sheet with the formulas he shared it and I recreated it and I wanted to share it with you guys because I thought it was very interesting so props to Brandon for creating this I'm not taking any credit for this it's all him so he showed this at the meetup and I thought I wanted to share it with you guys I haven't used it much in terms of product validation since I'm not looking for products right now but I have used it for keyword research and when I say keyword research it's two more things it's looking for keywords to put in your listing and then looking for keywords to put in your PPC campaigns because like I've said many many times Amazon is a game of keywords people buy by searching specific words but you don't really know what those specific words are and there are so many ways that someone can search for the same thing and you want to find out all those ways so what this does is it looks at your competitors and it looks at where they are ranking on page one and it looks at which keywords have the highest search volume so if your competitors are doing well and they're ranking high on those specific keywords and multiple competitors are there so let's say 10 of your best competitors are on page 1 there then it might make sense that they're doing well cuz they're there and those keywords are important to target for targeting but also for tracking so I have a keyword tracking tool that I use where every day or every week I look at it and I see if my listing is getting closer and closer to page one and on which keywords it's getting closer and closer on page one for and that's the list of keywords that I usually track all that to say is I'm going to show you this but also get creative with it and try different things and once you've seen what works best let me know in the comments because I'm also new to using this so without wasting any time let's get into my computer and I'll show you how to recreate it so the end result is gonna look something like this and I took the letter board product example which in the last video I did a video with someone that tried this product and failed at it so if you haven't seen it I'll link it somewhere up here or in the description below check it out but it is a product that he tried and multiple people tried and failed at so I want to try to compare the product that failed where the product that's mine that's succeeding right now so we can see how the data shows you what's a good product and what's not a good product it's gonna look something like this where you're gonna have key words you're gonna have search volume of these key words and the search volume tells you how many people searched this key word it also shows you the relevancy of each key word and we define that by this formula which tells you how many of these each one of those is a competitor it's a listing how many of these listings are ranking on around the first page of that keyword how many of them are in position less than 30 so assuming that 30 is somewhere between page 1 and 2 how many of these competitors are around these pages so 7 that means all of them are there which means that this keyword is pretty relevant since all of them are ranking there and then it's going to show you all the competitors that you're studying each one of those is a listing those numbers are the positions of each competitor so this person is position number six for felt letter board letters and position number six means that on the first page you go 1 2 3 4 5 6 without looking at the sponsored positions that's what it means it does not mean page 6 be careful so we also have these numbers right here and if you look at the formula which I'm going to include in the description below if you want to recreate this it shows how many of these numbers are less than 30 which in other words it shows you how many keywords it's ranking for around page one or two so this listing 58 keywords of these keywords it's on page one or two it has a position less than 30 so then you can compare all of these and to do that we do it in terms of percentages so this listing is on page one or two for 60% of all these keywords and then I color-coded them to see for each listing how many keywords it's ranking for so ninety-three percent of the keywords this listing is on page one or two so if we're looking at all these keywords then this listing is going to show up a lot as opposed to this Aysen right here if we're looking at all these keywords for a lot of the keywords this listing is not on page one or two so you can start to see how these numbers tell you a lot about keywords and listings you can also see that this is not very simple and it's good for people to understand numbers which means that this video is probably not gonna do well on YouTube I know it just click the thumbs up if you want to help it out if you want to help me reach more people with this video and leave a comment asking questions or saying anything it's just one of those videos that's not beginner friendly and I know it's not gonna do well but I still want to post it to share with you guys so if you want to help me out click a thumbs up thank you so much alright now that you know what this is we're gonna learn from this how to choose the best keywords to target we're gonna see which are the toughest a sense to compete with which are the easiest a sense to compete with we're also gonna see if there are too many tough competitors and it's too competitive and you know they're all unbeatable and then finally I'm gonna compare it to my own product to see what a winning product looks like in terms of these numbers so let me show you how to get this what you'll need is an Amazon keywords tool I used to Ebro I highly recommend it and you'll see why in a second and if you want to get it I have an affiliate link in the description below it gives you seven days free and 50% off the first month so you can try it for seven days and then cancel it or you can use it for seven days and then get whatever you want from it and then cancel it use code Brax 50 to get that and the link in the description below it isn't affiliate link so if you do use it I get a commission so thank you if you use it you don't have to but thanks if you do and the reason cerebro is so powerful is because you see these Aysen we can put them all at once here and it shows you all the data at once which means that this is so easy to create once you get everything from here so let's go to Amazon the first thing you do is you put in the most basic the most broad keyword that you know about your product so let's say letter board it's pretty broad and it probably has the biggest competitors the listings that are doing the best on Amazon once we have that open find the best competitors which means that people that are selling the most which means that have the best ranking which also means that have the lowest ranking so let's look at this one I'm just clicking holding ctrl and clicking on the mouse to open it right here let's open this one you also want to choose the ones that look the most like your product if it's completely different then you don't really want to compare with your product so I'm gonna open a bunch of them and then for each one you go here you click on the a son right here double click copy paste right here click tab and let me show you what I mean when I say that you can compare them all at the same time if I put another one it's gonna put them all here now if you can put up to nine or ten so do that and then it's gonna look something like this after you click on get keywords I'm gonna show you all the keywords for all these specific competitors technically what this is doing is it's comparing all these to this first one but we're just gonna assume that we're looking at all of them so now we have twelve thousand keywords which is a lot we can narrow it down by looking at let's say at least 500 and search volume because anything below that is gonna be meaningless to us because not enough people are searching for it on Amazon which means we don't care about targeting these keywords because no one's gonna buy from them we can also look at only their organic ones apply so it went from 12,000 to 1500 once you do that you can export Excel so this is what it looks like when you download it click on enable editing and we're gonna delete most of this except search volume and position so position is like I said for the main keyword which you are Teddy comparing to all these other ones so I'll take this one and I'll replace it with position so that's the the main listing not main keyword I made a mistake there and then delete this and then you make it look like this by putting all these formulas in here and this one and this one you can copy these I'll put them in the description below if you really can't recreate this I'll do it in the Facebook group it'll be in the description below as well I'll do it slowly so that we don't waste time in this video join it and watch it there if you can't but it should be pretty simple to recreate so we end up with this and usually uh the relevancy I remove anything that zero and one which means that if there's zero that means that none of these are ranking on fur on the first page which also shows you that that keyword is probably not relevant hence zero relevancy so now when we're studying this we I'm ranking this by the most relevant so seven all these all these listings are ranking on page one or two for these specific keywords which means that these might be the ones that are getting them the most sales but also they have to be the ones with a lot of search volume so if these had let's say ten or twenty search volume they wouldn't matter to us which is why I removed them in the first place so these would be let's say the sevens and the sixes or the fives even these would probably be the ones that I would closely look at every week to see where I'm ranking and for that I would use this one right here the keyword tracker from helium ten I would also look at all these keywords and make sure that I have every single one of these words somewhere in my listing and the most important ones would obviously be in the title and then in the bullet points and all of these places so you can optimize your listing according to where your best competitors are ranking I would also look at all these keywords and either check if I have them in my PPC campaigns or create specific campaigns for them these would probably be well depends they can be your most competitive but they also can be your most relevant so it depends on how many competitive a since there are and as I said before it's important to note the search volume because you know fifty two thousand that means it's an important keyword and as you see that's the keyword that I search at the beginning so as you can see there's a lot that you can do with this and I'm sure you guys can get more creative than this and if you do let me know in the comments below but the last thing that Brandon talked about is or the most important thing that he talked about was that he uses this to decide on whether to go after a product or not now I'm not too sure if I would do this and here's why so he looks at these numbers and if he has a lot in the red and by the way I made this up that's not what he said I just made it up just to make it look nice he says that if there's a lot of listings that are unbeatable and by unbeatable he means that the listing is ranking for a high percentage of keywords that means that you're gonna have to outrank this specific listing for every single one of these keywords so let's say you get on page one for felt letter boards and you're beating this listing then you'd have to be on page one for every single other keyword to beat that listing that's how he looks at this and he says if there is too many unbeatable ones it might be hard to go after this product and if there's less then it might be easier the only reason that I find it hard to you know just base it on this it's because this number I had to manipulate the data a lot to get a percentage that makes sense I had to remove low search volume I had to remove zero and one relevancy because at the beginning it was like 14 percent 12 percent 10 percent but I guess it would show you something because let me show you my product and we can compare so this is my product I remove the keywords obviously in the search volume just to protect my product the search volume was close to these numbers and as you can see there aren't any in the 90 percent any in the 80 percent or even the 70 percent and there's more green than there's red and the other one which could tell you that all of these are easily beatable compared to all of these so that's how he explained that he decides on products on going after products or not based on these numbers right here because he's doing let's say 5 million a year he needs to have a system that helps him decide on products he can't spend a lot of time or do a lot of guessing work when it comes to product it needs to be very systematic so I guess that's how he does it if you don't want to use it to choose products then definitely use this to track to optimize your listing and to target with PPC like I said before if you have any questions leave them in the comment section below if you like this video please click the thumbs up it really helps and don't forget to join the Facebook group if you want to see the details of this or if you want to ask any questions that's where I always hang out and always answer question and it's the best way to reach me it's called the Brax Amazon FBA group on Facebook and subscribe if you want to see more Amazon stuff and let me know what you want to see in the future and click right here if you want to see another video on how to find your best keywords I did this video last month I think I really enjoy it so click right here to watch it I'll see you there I'm gonna show you my computer in a second but we're looking for four things here we put a bunch of competitors and we do a reverse search and we filter by number one we only want to look for keyword
