WE HAVE A LITTLE TIME TO ENJOY THE UNSEASONABLE WARMTH AGAIN. BACK TO YOU. THANKS SO MUCH, VANESSA. NOW TO THE TOP STORY. A CHURCH IN ELIZABETH, NEW JERSEY, GOES UP IN FLAMES HOURS BEFORE SUNDAY MASS. IT IS NOW UNDER CONTROL BUT NOT BEFORE CAUSING MAJOR DAMAGE. CBS 2’S TARA JAKEWAY JOINS US LIVE FROM THE SCENE. Reporter: A HEARTBREAKING SCENE HERE ON A SUNDAY MORNING ON MURRAY STREET AT SHILOH BAPTIST CHURCH. IT HAS BEEN ABSOLUTELY GUTTED BY FIRE. TAKE A LOOK. YOU CAN SEE THEY’RE STILL POURING WATER INTO THE BUILDING. WATER POURING DOWN THE FRONT STEPS OF THE CHURCH BUT IT IS ABSOLUTELY STILL SMOLDERING. THE CALL CAME IN AROUND 3:15 A.M.. IT WAS A FOUR ALARM FIRE WITH AROUND 20 UNITS RESPONDING. THAT IS 100 FIREFIGHTERS HERE. AMAZINGLY, THERE ARE NO CIVILIANS OR FIRST RESPONDERS INJURED. THERE ARE MAJOR POWER LINES THAT ARE DOWN SO OUTAGES THAT THEY’RE STILL WORKING ON. THAT IS THE WORST OF IT AND THE CHIEF TELLS US WHEN HE GOT THE CALL HE WAS AFRAID IT WAS A RESIDENTIAL BUILDING ON EITHER SIDE OF THE CHURCH. THEY’RE VERY CLOSE HERE. THEY HUG THE CHURCH. HE WAS GRATEFUL WHEN HE GOT HERE AND HE REALIZED IT WASN’T. HE TELLS US, HE SPOKE TO US EARLIER, HE TELLS US HE IS DEVASTATED FOR THE CHURCH COMMUNITY BUT AGAIN, VERY GRATEFUL THAT ALL OF THE PERSONNEL AND ENTIRE COMMUNITY IS SAFE. THE CAUSE IS UNDER INVESTIGATION BY THE UNION COUNTY ARSON UNIT. THEY’RE SEEING IF THERE IS AN EVENT THAT HAPPENED HERE LAST NIGHT, MAYBE THERE WERE CANDLES. THE MASSES THAT WERE COMING UP IN A COUPLE OF HOURS OBVIOUSLY
