  1. and the solar system doesn't revolve around the earth as the church once thought… creationism has been revisited with the scientific understanding of evolution…. and science says that homosexuality is natural https://au.reachout.com/articles/all-about-being-gay. I guess if you were not gay (ie not attracted to same sex) and had same sex sex, it might be a sin according to your definition, but why have sex with no attraction… sex with love as a tradition I get and respect and I believe in supporting gay people ( I am not one of them) in their choice to have loving, committed, sexual relationships

  2. Again, wow. I could nit-pick (saying "Oriental" unironically in 2002). His argument is basically that gay people should accept a dehumanizing second-class status (under a Catholic confessional state?) because their equality as first-class treatment will lead to them putting into concentration camps. And then only right-wing Catholic bigots will be able to stand up for gays. Nicely twisted logic. Aside from the main topic of this lecture — seriously, dude, the conquistadores were less deserving of death than the Aztecs? Right, because the killing of thousands of people within a religious tradition of human sacrifice perpetrated by non-white "heathens" is worse than the killing of millions in a kind of human sacrifice in the form of genocide by white Catholics. Sorry, man, no sale. Kudos to the young woman who stood up to this clown.

  3. Most homosexuals that become "straight" regret it deeply . Most homosexuals don't define themselves by their 'sin' anymore tgan heterosexuals do and the burden of proof is always on the accuser, not the accused. So many flaws in his logic and his heart. Shame, i liked him

  4. Kreeft is a great Tomist and a good philosopher but his ignorance of Islam is astonishing. Also, 30 minutes into his speech on homosexuality he says he's not an expert in homosexuality (not by experience of course).

  5. All of these ideas you can find in Platonism without the useless mythology behind it. Are we to believe christians have the best morality? The Bible by itself is not enough authority. I would rather read Plotinus than listen the now distorted teachings of Jesus.

Leave the homosexuals be, they can also achieve a higher love just as much they can strive for carnal love just like heterosexuals do.

  8. If the morality of sex is to be found in its sacredness, I think we can all recognize the sacredness of love. Now, love is capable between human beings regardless of their sex.

  9. Don't kid yourself woman homosexuality is a disgrace.the silent majority still despise it and it will come out eventually.Incidentally woman you hardly know what you are talking about .Yes women are often in awful psychological trauma as I myself know of women who suffered terribly . after having an abortion. Killing one's own child is the bottom of the pit.Often circumstances made them feel it was unavoidable ,due to unlawful sexual behavior .But it does not change the fact.

  10. Hello, I was just wondering if you know where this talk was done. I would like to find the reference – so that I could reference it for an essay.

    Thanks

  12. Wow! A Christian who doesn't believe the Bible is the absolute authority on what is right and what is wrong. His ideas are not new. Aaron, the high priest, in Numbers rebelled against Yahweh and the early authority Mosheh saying, to paraphrase, "Are we not all holy? Can't we all just decide for ourselves what righteousness is? Leviticus 18 has some harsh words to say about sodomy. The term homosexuality was invented to blur the lines of morality. After all, there are incidences in the wild where dominating rituals take place. Sodomy is what Yahweh calls it, and He calls it evil. He says that if you commit these acts you defile yourself, the one you do it with, and you become an abomination. Do you know what it means to 'become an abomination?" Yahweh uses the term abomination, there, to indicate that you have created a new disease, in some places called a new god. Like a god, a disease cannot be seen by common folk like you and me. Sure, you can look at it under a microscope, but who does that? Satan told Eve in the garden, you can commit this little sin because Yahweh didn't tell you that if you do you will still live. Yahweh was not talking about an immediate death, but the death that we all die because sin corrupts the flesh and reduces our ability to enjoy life. All manner of disease, sickness, and illness is the result of some one, some where, committing a sin. If you eat dog poo, and nothing else, how long do you think you will live? Have there ever been any scientific studies done that show that eating dog poo is unhealthy or causes disease? I don't know, but I'm sure that anyone will agree with me that you should not eat it. There have been medical studies done on homosexual activity, and it does cause and spread disease. The problem is, like Satan said, you won't die any time soon from it. In fact, you may live for 30 years or more before you suffer any symptoms. Then, after such a long time, it's impossible for you to trace those symptoms to their root cause. Who can possibly remember all the times they have sinned? I believe the Bible is the absolute authority on every matter on which it speaks. I do not believe there are any set of circumstances where doing a thing could be morally right, if there exists the Bible which explicitly says don't do it.

  13. Mr Escoto sir, you can neither write decent sentences or think straight, qualities which go naturally together. You state that I am woefully in error but make no attempt to enlighten on exactly what these errors are. Or indeed put it on paper what it is you do think, if indeed you do think. Even dog Jack thinks you are a  twerp

  14. My dear Mr Escoto or perhaps Ms Escoto you do remain enticingly anonymous, but I have never read a Dan Brown novel in my life reasoning that a million flies couldn't be right..And anyway I have read Chretien de Troyes the first writer to ever mention the grail and then die before saying what it actually was. I suppose you are only one of that anonymous gang of human bull terriers who are engaged to defend the indefensible. By the sounds of it as well as hiding your faces you are all given formulaic insults to hurl

  15. It is written Romans 1:27-32 "And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men, working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgement of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them."

  16. It is written 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 " Know ye not that unrighteous shall not inherit the Kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor EFFEMINATE, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetorus, nor drunkards, nor revillers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the Kingdom of God."

  17. The clarity of Dr Kreeft is quite refreshing!  As one scans the comments below, one gets a snapshot into a culture and patterns of thought that are muddy, obscure and defined by boundaries.  These are gulfs so wide which no one on either side can cross.  Thanks be to God!

  19. +hermajesty52 Do you expect Jews and Blacks to give love to the KKK? Christians try to impose their beliefs on others, then whine they don't get love in return for trying to deny people equal rights. There is no evidence of god, or sin. You feel homosexuality is a sin? Fine, don't have gay sex. I don't think anybody would care. But when Christians start harassing gay people, and interfering with their lives, people start caring.
