An Atheist’s Conversion

Posted By on May 31, 2019

so I just hand on one of these it's the easiest way to share the gospel you do this every week yeah huh Heavenly Father I just pray that you guide us when we go out and share the gospel tonight Lord I was born in a Christian family we went to church and everything was fine and dandy in my life until something happened to me in my family when I was in high school that completely shattered my faith in God and turned my life upside down my dad wanted to open up a business with his best friend my dad's best friend ended up being deceitful about certain parts of the business deal it went sour and we went from being well-off financially to basically having absolutely nothing in the bank account in a matter of days to make things worse my dad began to behave really strangely and the psychiatrists at the time diagnosed him with a disease called delusional schizophrenia we checked in my dad to a psychiatric hospital and so when I didn't see God healing my dad when I didn't see God giving us the finances that we needed I said you know what everything that I've been taught about God in the Bible is absolutely wrong and so very quickly I embraced atheism so when I went to college I was in college as an atheist I embraced evolution I was partying and so after a while of going through this I began to search I began to search for hey what's the meaning of life why am I here and what am I supposed to be doing in life I was watching a movie with my best friend and we left the movie theater we saw that there was a group of people there was one lady that came up to me she said to me have you received your million dollars today and I said what and she gave me something it was a piece of paper I didn't think too much of it and I just took it and I put it in my pocket now in all honesty I had planned on waiting just until I was out of view and I was going to throw that piece of paper in the trash I didn't really care about what it said so when I got back home I was taking out my stuff and lo and behold this piece of paper came up and I began to read it and it said here is the million dollar question will you go to heaven when you die for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life and so when I read that my heart began to pound and I began to get goosebumps and it was as if my whole life flashed in front of me I went and I just kneeled beside my bed has got please forgive me I'm so sorry for what I've done I've done so many wrong things against you God used living waters in my life to bring me the faith and he was the million dollar tract specifically to bring me to Christ this woman that gave me that tract that night she had no idea how God was going to use it in my life she had no idea that just a few minutes later I was going to be in my room on my knees crying and asking God to forgive me for all the wrong things that I had done in my life and now you know by the grace of God I'm able to take that same tract and also bring other people to faith truly God uses it to make a difference and to usher so many more people at this kingdom you

  1. Has any Christian -> Atheist ever done this? I have always been an Atheist even when I didn't know it. Never went to God or Christianity(or any other religion) as it never added up and lack of evidence did it for me. I've never been angry at God, because there is nothing there in which to be angry. I guess it's the same way I can't be mad at Santa for not getting me that model car I wanted when I was 7.

  2. There is a fake conversion story if ever I saw one. "I was angry at god"… that's what theists like to pretend atheist think. This nonsense was clearly written by a Christian who had no idea how to write a believable fake conversion story.

It's a story written by Christians for Christians, meant only to reinforce their own belief. The fact that you need to tell yourself these lies says it all.

  3. This video is fake. All the atheists can tell you WHY. It's a "Christian fantasy" about an atheist joining a fake religion. HOW do we know? It checks EVERY box Christians fantasize about, every fake conception they have about anyone not in their cult, and is obviously, painfully uninformed and unknowledgeable about HOW, WHY and at what SPEED people even become atheists. Keep it up: you're creating atheists faster than I ever could. How? It shows that Christians may not be born as such, but they're bred liars.

  4. Christians please ask yourselves: why would the Omnipotent Creator or the whole Universe needs puny mammals to further his cause? Especially with paper leaflets disguised as money? makes no sense.

  5. It is a fallacy that any significant number of atheists no longer believe in god(s) because of some tragedy in their life. Do you disbelieve in the Flying Spaghetti Monster due to some tragedy?

  6. I speak from experience.
He wanted to deny God, but couldn't quite do that entirely. We blame God when all goes bad. We get disillusioned. We expect everything to go well and then tragedy happens. It shakes our world.
Eventually God will reach us through someone he put in our path. Then God pulls us out of our pit of dispair. That's when we have a wonderful conversion of our thinking and become truly saved. Up until then we are not true Christians. We we're just attending church, singing songs.
Now when I go to church I PRAISE God when I sing. He lives in my ❤️ heart now.

  7. He is not a true atheist; if you talk about hell or heaven to a "real" atheist, he will not take this into consideration since he doesn't believe in these concepts.

  8. I see these people praying together before going out and sharing the Gospel. I pray for that level of involvement and support when I do it. People are happy to read Ephesians 2:8-9 but turn their brains off for 2:10. I don't understand. This is not to gossip or slander. Rather, it grieves me.

  9. He seems to have inherited mental illness from his father, and that would explain why he holds to these obvious delusions. One doesn't 'embrace atheism'. Atheism is when you no longer embrace religion, and begin to embrace reality.
1:50 What do evolutionary biology and partying have to do with each other? You say you embraced evolution, as if you no longer do. Evolution has been observed in the lab and field, both micro and macro, and the evidence for it is overwhelming, making it absolutely a fact. To deny evolution is to deny that the Sun shines, and that makes doing so delusional.
2:45 Heaven is a fairy tale for grownups who are still afraid of magical invisible ghosts.

  10. I love the circular reasoning that atheists use to say that anyone who converts from atheism is not an atheist. This assumes atheism is true an humans can't be wrong and that only the stubborn and arrogant are true believers.

This is the perfect example of the "no true scotsman" fallacy.

  11. Are you kidding me? This guy grew up in Christianity, lost his faith when things got hard for his family (because praying to God for money or anything else does not work) and then someone gave him a note that reminded him of his psychologically damaging upbringing and scared him that he might not go to heaven (and would therefore go to hell). So he ran like a baby back into mommy religion's arms.

  13. What I don't understand is why atheists are trying so hard to convince people that there is no such thing as God! If you truly believe so, you won't even bother to watch the video because as you claim- there is nothing at stake! You know what I think, most atheists really want to believe there is no God but they have constant doubts that they might be dead wrong so they constantly look for a life line. Listen up wish it away as much as you want. There is a realm called the spiritual which our immediate world may not be able to prove, however that does not negate its existence, just like the ignorance of electricity does not negate its existence. Open up your heart. Ask Jesus to help you if He is real. If you seek genuinely you will find a new world of tangible realities you never knew existed. Jesus is real because we talked this morning- it can't get more real than that, by the way He's beyond awesome! He loves you and is waiting for you to call on Him! Awesome testimony! God bless you!
